May 2017 IOTM winner

Vision Conservatories have won Atlas’s May “Installation of the Month” competition, claiming a prize of £200 Screwfix vouchers and £50 Majestic Wine vouchers.

The winning installation is in a small village in Wiltshire where the homeowners felt their large traditional house had become bland in comparison to their beautiful surroundings. They wanted to add some zest to their property and no renovation had been done to the house for many years, so it was in desperate need of a modern touch.

The homeowners approached Vision Conservatories, their local installer, to enquire about adding a stylish extension to the back of their home. It needed to be contemporary in style, but in keeping with the traditional style of the rest of the home.

Vision Conservatories were tasked with designing and building a square shaped extension to fill an ugly ‘dead spot’ in the garden. Using old reclaimed bricks, the team blended the new extension in beautifully with the rest of the house’s brickwork, so it looks like it’s always been there.

A bold pyramid lantern was installed to complete the look. It was chosen to match the shape of the extension and to maximise natural light into all corners of the room so the family can make the most of living in the space all year round. The pale green and cream interior reflects the lush green garden perfectly, creating a cosy atmosphere for the homeowners to relax and admire their garden whatever the weather.

Mike Keeling, MD of Vision Conservatories commented “I’m chuffed to have finally won this competition. This installation is really nice, and will change the way the family use their home. It’s modern but fits perfectly with the character of the rest of the home, and the unusual pyramid lantern really finishes it all off. We complete great Atlas projects like this all the time - I’m determined to win again before for the Atlas Installation of the Year Awards!”
