March ITOM winner

Mendip Conservatories have been announced as Atlas’s March winner of the ‘Installation of the Month’ competition with a double entry.

Following on from last year’s success Mendip Conservatories have continued to submit fantastic entries into the ‘Installation of the Month’ competition.

Mendip’s customer, based in Bath, was looking for a strong and reliable conservatory to replace their old white timber conservatory which was on the verge of collapsing.

The conservatory was to be installed onto a historical 1906 detached mock castle that had been in the family for many years. The house featured a 100 year old grape vine and 2 acres of beautiful garden. With the owners being very horticultural, they receive lots of visitors to their home to view their famous plants and grape vine.

As well as wanting a strong, reliable conservatory to support the grape vine, the homeowner needed the conservatory to look great to attract visitors. Mendip used both Atlas and sister company Customade for the installation choosing Customade white PVCu woodgrain windows and a white Atlas conservatory roof.

Mendip’s customer was delighted by the finished installation, describing it as a "Grapery"!

Kim Eyres, MD at Mendip Conservatories commented "It was challenging as the conservatory could only be installed at a particular time of year so we had a very short time frame to do it. The technical team at Atlas were fantastic and they really helped us. Atlas ticked all of the boxes for this installation!”

Mendip’s 2nd winning installation

For Mendip’s 2nd winning installation, Mendip were tasked with replacing a badly built conservatory with a traditional style wraparound extension.

After researching many different styles of conservatories and extensions available, Mendip introduced the Atlas roof system to the customer. The customer really liked the appearance and strength of the Atlas roof system as well being able to use solar control glass for their extension.

Disliking their old installation, the customer wanted something traditional but with a modern twist. The wraparound extension was to go on a detached traditional family home. A traditional RAL colour (Stone grey 7030) was chosen for the modern extension to contrast with the traditional style home. The colour added a modern and chic twist to the property.

There were many factors Mendip had to consider when installing the extension as it was complex job due to the age and shape of the property. Mendip made that the window system and the Atlas roof system chosen was compatibility for the installation.

Kim Eyres, MD at Mendip Conservatories commented “We were originally a bit nervous taking on the installation as it’s the biggest Atlas installation we have ever done. The customer unfortunately had a bad experience with his previous extension so we worked closely with them and Atlas to ensure the installation went smoothly. Our customer is ecstatic with the finished result.”
